The threat of weak demand in global steel markets remains; steel consumption in key global markets is declining.
Steel consumption in many key #steel markets is showing a downward trend. This has put significant pressure on steel market prices and pushed countries toward export markets — especially those unable to reduce production in line with falling domestic demand. Most countries facing declining domestic steel consumption have high export capacities, creating a major risk for the healthy functioning of markets and global steel trade.
