According to Steel World Review a cordial meeting was held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, between economic stakeholders and private sector investors of Kermanshah Province with Dr. Pezeshkian, the newly elected President of Iran, at the Kermanshah Governor’s Office.
In this meeting, which was attended by senior provincial officials, managers of production and industrial units, representatives of the private sector, and economic experts, the issues and challenges of Kermanshah’s economic development were discussed.
During the session, Mr. Jahandar Shokri, CEO of Bisotoun Steel and one of the province’s leading economic figures, addressed the President and shared the most pressing concerns of local industrialists. Referring to the issue of energy imbalance and the severe unemployment crisis in Kermanshah, he emphasized:
“With just 50 megawatts of electricity allocated to Kermanshah’s industries, we can bring about a significant transformation in production and employment. This amount of energy can act as a driving force to revive factories and create job opportunities.”
President Pezeshkian, while stressing the crucial role of economic actors in promoting production and employment, pledged that the government would implement broader support programs by leveraging the unique potential of this border province.
