EMSTEEL, one of the region’s largest publicly traded steel and building materials manufacturers, has established a presence across more than 70 international markets, underscoring the UAE steel industry’s growing reach beyond its domestic market.
According to Steel World Review, the UAE steel sector has steadily expanded its international footprint in recent years, with EMSTEEL emerging as one of the country’s key players in global steel markets. The Abu Dhabi-based group supplies its products to more than 70 markets worldwide, serving applications ranging from construction and high-rise developments to infrastructure and marine engineering.
Steel Sales Reach 806,000 Tonnes in Q2 2026
EMSTEEL reported total steel sales volumes of 806,000 tonnes in the second quarter of 2026, comprising finished steel products and billets. Sales volumes remained broadly in line with the corresponding period of 2025.
The Group’s quarterly revenue increased by 11% year-on-year to AED 2.4 billion, while revenue from its Steel division reached AED 2.1 billion, representing a 9% increase compared with Q2 2025.
Profitability improved at a significantly faster pace. EMSTEEL reported EBITDA of AED 457 million, up 67% year-on-year, while net profit surged 157% to AED 262 million. The Group’s EBITDA margin ex
panded to 19.1%, compared with 12.8% a year earlier.
Low-Carbon Steel Becomes a Strategic Focus
Alongside its international market presence, EMSTEEL is increasing its focus on advanced and lower-carbon steel solutions. In 2026, the company was named a worldsteel Sustainability Champion for the third consecutive year, becoming the only steel producer in the MENA region to receive the distinction that year. The Group is also continuing to develop lower-carbon products and high-strength steel solutions aimed at supporting more efficient and sustainable construction.
EMSTEEL also launched its ES600 high-strength rebar during the second quarter of 2026. According to the company, the new grade can reduce steel consumption by approximately 18% to 24% in suitable construction applications and is already being deployed across major UAE developments.
UAE Strengthens Its Position in Regional Steel Trade
The combination of domestic production capacity, access to international markets and investment in advanced and lower-carbon steel products reflects the UAE steel industry’s broader push to strengthen its position in regional and international supply chains.
It is important, however, to distinguish EMSTEEL’s international market reach from the UAE’s total steel exports. The figure of more than 70 markets refers specifically to EMSTEEL’s global sales footprint and should not be interpreted as the total number of export destinations for the entire UAE steel industry.
