According to the Public Relations Department of the Steel World Review, the 26th National Steel Symposium was held from October 22 to October 24, 2024, at the Kish International Convention Center. This prestigious event aimed to foster collaboration between industries and academia, leveraging innovative technologies for sustainable production, particularly in the field of “innovative technologies and waste recycling in green steel production.”
At this symposium, steel industry professionals, researchers, and knowledge-based companies engaged in discussions and interactions. The opening ceremony commenced with scientific presentations, including a performance report of the Iranian Iron and Steel Association delivered by Professor Najafizadeh and Engineer Behrooz Mohaadi from Isfahan University. These speakers highlighted the benefits of utilizing green steel and innovative technologies in reducing environmental pollution.
In this context, Engineer Koohi, CEO of Zob Ahan Isfahan, emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence in the steel industry and its role in reducing production costs. Additionally, Abbas Najafizadeh, President of the Iranian Iron and Steel Association, announced the organization of B2B meetings for interested participants and stressed the necessity of establishing a circular economy within the steel industry.
On the second day of the symposium, specialized sessions focused on steel, casting, and the environment were held. During these sessions, researchers and experts presented their projects and studies on green steel production and pollutant reduction.
The closing ceremony of the event concluded with a tribute to Amin Ebrahimi, CEO of Khouzestan Steel, and the introduction of Dr. Ehsan Dashtianeh as the Steelman of the Year in Iran. Additionally, Engineer Torabi from Ghadir Steel was recognized as the Outstanding Manager of the Year.
Simultaneously with the symposium, a steel exhibition was held for three days at the Kish International Exhibition Center, attracting significant attention from steel industries and related sectors.
